SDS Message to Graduates

by: Schools Division Superintendent – Concepcion Ferrer-Balawag, Ph.D., CESE

Alhamdulillah! Praise Almighty God for this success!

My warmest and sincerest congratulations to all the graduates and completers of school year 2018-2019.

This special occasion marks a very momentous part in your life my dear graduates and completers. Your hard work coupled with discipline, dedication, and commitment has paid off. You have proven your determination and willingness to finish your kindergarten/elementary/secondary/senior high school education. I am so delighted of your achievement!

Schools Division of Cotabato City in its aim of providing a holistic, quality and liberating education, has continually adapted change in meeting your needs and expectations. Seeing you now reaping the fruits of your success as product of your hard work gives us more inspiration in doing our job efficiently with integrity.

Amidst diversity in culture, beliefs, and traditions, you have learned to embrace multiplicity that has contributed in overcoming challenges. With the support of your parents/guardians, school administrators, teachers, and stakeholders, we have taken part in your journey with the aim of helping you become successful and citizens of character in the future, Insha Allah.

This year’s theme “Pagkakaisa sa Pagkakaiba-iba: Kalidad na Edukasyon para sa Lahat (Unity in Diversity: Quality Education for All), reminds us of a very substantial role a Filipino citizen must perform. Your openness to blend with the challenges of cultural diversity while you were in school has brought you this far.

As stated in the Qur’an (Verse 13), “O Humanity! Without doubt We have created you from a male and a female and have made you into various nations and tribes, so that you may come to know and understand one another. Definitely the most honoured among you in the sight of Allah is the one who is the most Allah-Consciousness. Surely Allah has full knowledge and is All-Aware.” God wants us to be ONE with Him and our fellow men with no walls and divisions. Continue with your dreams in unity of God’s teachings. Always believe that we are unified around the centrality of God’s word.

Continue moving towards your goal in life and always make God the center of your life. Make the most of every opportunity in maximizing all your learning in school with humility. Your flexibility in adapting change will help you become not just an educated one but a cultured citizen, A Well-Mannered Citizen

May Allah (swt) bless and guide you always to the path of righteousness….

Mabrook! Congratulations!

SDS CHIE: Epitome of Educational Leadership in Islam (7/3/2018)- By Esmael S. Mamalaguia, Ph.D. There are three dimensional models of educational leadership with explicit overlaps: teaching with knowledge and understanding – educator, guiding with wisdom and values – prophet/leader, caring with responsibility and commitment – parent.
